Bequest to the University
Luka Ćelović Trebinjac, the greatest benefactor of the University of Belgrade, bequeathed all his property to the University by his will of 1911 and by the Founding Charter of the Endowment of 1925.
The Endowment began its work in 1926 under the name “Endowment of Luka Ćelović Trebinjac, a Belgrade merchant”. Its mission was, and remains, clear: investing in the future of Serbian science by supporting the highest educational institution.

- Buildings at Gavrila Principa Street Nos. 14 and 16
- Building at Karađorđeva Street No. 65
- Buildings at Koče Popovića Street Nos. 1 and 3–9
All in the cadastral municipality of Savski Venac, Belgrade.
Restoration of activity and legal status
After the period of nationalisation, the work of the Endowment was restored by a decision of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Serbia (No. 022-3372/95-03) of 24 July 1995. The Endowment was officially registered with the Business Registers Agency (BZF 308/2012) on 2 April 2012.

The basic mission of the endowment is to help meet the scientific needs of the University of Belgrade.
