Lazar's Benefactors

Ravanica and Ljubostinja

Prince Lazar Hrebeljanović built Ravanica, the main endowment of his reign, constructed between 1377 and 1381. His wife, Princess Milica, who later became a nun, built Ljubostinja.

Lazar was killed at Kosovo in 1389, and Ravanica became the site of his cult and the spiritual centre of Moravian Serbia. After his death Milica became a nun, and Ljubostinja remained her endowment.
