Education, Schooling and Scholarships
From Tekelijanum to Velimirijanum
From the 19th century, endowment-building increasingly turned towards education. Sava Tekelija founded the Tekelijanum for Serbian students in Pest, Sima Andrejević Igumanov left a palace to the Prizren Seminary, and Ilija Kolarac the People's University and a concert hall.
The Čupić Endowment, Velimirijanum, Magazinović Endowment and Đoka Jovanović Endowment show that benefactors supported literature, science, textbooks and poor pupils.
