Nikola Spasić and His Endowment
Palaces, hospitals and a home for the infirm
Nikola Spasić, an industrialist, founded the Endowment, which built a series of public and charitable buildings. The palace at 33 Knez Mihailova Street is the seat of the Endowment, while Spasić Passage and other residential and commercial buildings are owned by the Endowment.
From those funds were also built hospitals, the Church of Saint Trifun at Topčider Cemetery, where Nikola Spasić rests, and the Spasić Pavilion at Sajmište.
