Endowments in Kosovo and Metohija
Banjska, Gračanica and Visoki Dečani
Banjska, Gračanica and Visoki Dečani were built in the first half of the 14th century and are linked with two rulers: King Milutin and his son Stefan Dečanski. Banjska is Milutin's burial church, Gračanica his endowment, and Visoki Dečani the endowment of Stefan Dečanski.
These endowments are marked separately on the map because they are also linked by their location: they lie in Kosovo and Metohija, which for centuries was the centre of the Serbian Church and state.
